Walking, Hiking and Outdoor Shops

Flying Tackle

74 Main St, Portrush BT56 8BN, UK – 028 7082 2209

top north coast fishing tackle shop

Troggs Surf Shop

88 Main St, Portrush BT56 8BN, UK – 028 7082 5476

Andy is a champ. Always lets you know whether the surf is worth coming up for with his video updates. Also has the best range of winter hats!

We have recently been introduced to the world of surfing as my daughter has fallen in love with the sport. We have purchased all her gear from Troggs and Andy has been more than helpful with us. We had a slight problem with my daughter's wetsuit & Andy went above and beyond the call of duty to try and get my daughter's wetsuit replaced. My daughter was the happiest girl alive when she did indeed receive her new wetsuit. The service here is A1, I would highly recommend Troggs to anyone starting out or indeed any experienced surfers, they will love this shop!

Babushka Kitchen Cafe

S Pier, Portrush BT56 8BP, UK – 07787 502012

Heard so much about Babushka and visited today for the first time. Asked the server to describe the two pour over coffees on the menu and she said she didn't know anything about them. Asked another member who shrugged and proceeded to tell me. Sat outside. Coffee came in a paper cup with supping lid. Told the waitress that I had ordered a pour over and she told me that is how it is served. Asked for a cup and was told that they don't give them out. Coffee quality was very good and the coffee shop location is amazing. When you get the service right, this place could be five stars. *** UPDATED JUNE 2018 *** I did visit again at Easter this year and I was blown away by the quality of the coffee and the service - especially from George! We talked for quite a while about coffee and I'm pleased to say that it was the best coffee experience you could wish for. And of course, the views over East Strand. Worth taking time to visit!

Stopped here as part of a causeway food tour. Been fishing on causeway lass then to here to have fish cooked fresh of the boat. Food was lovely and the use of home products made it even better. Lovely spot to enjoy delicious food.

WalkingWorld.jpg
Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the UK. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks.

Crucially you can also find walks France, Spain, Norway, Portugal and Australia!

Skerries Holiday Park

Dunluce Rd, Portrush BT56 8NB, UK – 028 7082 2531

Good caravan / holiday park with lots of camping space available on the north coast with spectacular views. The shower and toilet facilities are very good and well maintained. There is a good & very modern children's play area and there's even a couple of tennis courts. The site has a fish & chip shop + convenience shop for the daily newspapers, magazines and daily food top up

One of the best places to stay on North Coast if you have a caravan. Really clean and tidy, well looked after. On a cycle path that takes you to Portstewart. Very handy for lots of places.
